The Jerk has been wondering lately about why sodas are carbonated? Fruit punch isn’t carbonated? Iced tea isn’t carbonated? Your favorite flavored latte isn’t carbonated? Well, the scientific reason for the carbonation has to do with eliminating the need for pasteurization and adding a tangy flavor to the drinks. But, here at Epic Sodas, we feel that there is another more compelling reason for carbonation. If there were no bubbles in the sodas, what would tickle your nose while drinking. Just think about it; the tickle of the bubbles hitting your nose makes the drink exciting and refreshing. So, the next time that you drink one of the glass bottle sodas from Epic Sodas; think of the wonders of carbonation and how dull the drink would be without it. Cheers!
Why Are Sodas Carbonated?
Happy Mother’s Day
Everyone at Epic Sodas wishes all mothers a very happy Mother’s Day and continued best wishes every day of the year. To the mothers who bore the pain of giving birth, to the nurturing mothers whether natural, adoptive, foster or surrogate; we say thank you, and you are loved. So, here’s a glass bottle soda toast to all mothers. Cheers!
A Special Gift for Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is just around the corner on May 13th, and now is the time for everyone to start planning on what to get for their mothers. We know that Mother’s Day is the busiest day of the year for long distance telephone calls and flower deliveries. However, after sons and daughters have made the obligatory telephone call (please don’t email or text a greeting to your mother) what can you do besides sending flowers. Well, The Jerk has an idea. How about surprising your wonderful mother with a twelve pack of her favorite glass bottle sodas from Epic Sodas. She will have twelve glorious reminders of how much you love her. And, as with flowers that come in re-useable vases, the glass soda bottles make fantastic bud vases. She can have a vase for every room in the house. If Mom does not have a favorite soda, The Jerk recommends Coca Cola in classic bottles, but every glass bottle soda has a unique design. You may even want to have a variety of glass bottles for vases. Check the glass bottle designs on the Epic Sodas website. And, of course Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers without whom we would not be here. Cheers!
Vanilla Gets a Bad Rap
When something appears plain or boring, it is often referred to as being “vanilla”. However, The Jerk takes exception with this characterization of vanilla as being boring or just plain. Anyone who visits the Epic Sodas website and orders any of the delicious vanilla flavored sodas will find that vanilla is anything but boring. For instance, try Faygo Vanilla Creme. Vanilla adds a special unique flavor to many of your favorite beverages which makes them taste beyond the usual. So, when you think of vanilla, don’t think of plain white ice cream; think of soda and make your taste buds tingle. Cheers!
Sometimes Life Just Needs A Jolt
Yesterday, The Jerk was having one of those days where he was running out of energy, but he was also very thirsty. One of those little two ounce energy drinks would not satisfy both needs. Then, he remembered Epic Sodas where you can have your cake and eat it too so to speak. Jolt sodas give you that needed energy burst while satisfying your thirst for a great soda. And, Jolt comes in four great flavors; Jolt Cherry Bomb, Jolt Cola, Jolt Electric Blue and Jolt Red Eye. Order your Jolt flavors now from Epic Sodas and have them on hand when that day comes, and it will come, when you need a thirst quench and a pick me up energy boost. Cheers!
Happy Easter
The Epic Soda Jerk wants to wish everyone a Happy Passover or a Happy Easter this weekend. One of the highlights of Easter for children is the traditional Easter egg hunt. In recent years, the hardboiled dyed eggs which were hidden have been replaced by colored plastic eggs usually filled with jelly beans. The Jerk is suggesting that daring parents may want to take the tradition a step further and instead of jelly beans in plastic eggs why not hide Jelly Belly soda that comes in real glass bottles. Just think of the joy that your children, young and old, will show when they find a bottle of their favorite flavor of Jelly Belly soda. Jelly Belly comes in the same flavors, well almost, of the tasty little bean, but it can be enjoyed much longer and without all of the chewing. Even, if you are not daring enough to hide Jelly Belly sodas on Easter, there are 364 other days of the year in which to try them. Check the Jelly Belly flavors at Epic Sodas. Cheers!
And, The Winner Is ……
By now everyone probably knows that the University of Kentucky defeated Kansas University for the NCAA basketball championship. Now, you are certainly waiting with baited breath (don’t know what that means, but it sounds anticipatory) for the winner of the great glass bottle soda championship. In the semi-finals, Dad’s Old Fashioned Root Beer and Americana Huckleberry outlasted Jelly Belly Juicy Pear and Crush Orange. In the finals, there was a mild upset. And, the winner is Americana Huckleberry. It was a hard fought contest with the more well known Dad’s taking an early lead, but, when the orders came in from the Northwest, the plucky little huckleberry ruled the day. The tournament sponsor, Epic Sodas, is proud to present the first annual Glass Bottle Trophy to Americana Huckleberry. If you want to taste the winning experience, order your Americana Huckleberry and feel like a champion. Cheers!
The Final Two
Well, we now know that the NCAA basketball tournament is down to the final two, Kentucky and Kansas. It is equally exciting to know that Epic Sodas is down to its final two in the great soda tournament. We now know that it will be Dad’s Old Fashioned Root Beer versus Americana Huckleberry in the finals. We want to congratulate all the purchasers of Crush Orange and Jelly Belly Juicy Pear who put up a great battle for taste in the final four, but they fell a little short in sales but not in taste appreciation. By tomorrow, we will know the overall winner, but you still have time to make a difference by ordering either of the two finalists before the end of the day tomorrow. The taste buds of the nation are salivating and the excitement is building; so, best wishes and good drinking to both of our beverages beyond the usual. Cheers!
Don’t Be Fooled
April 1st is the day when pranks abound. But, don’t be fooled any day of the year when the big soda makers want you to believe that soda in aluminum cans is as good as soda in real glass bottles. Soda pop has and always will be best in glass bottles. The taste is pure in a bottle, and you can see what you are drinking. And, holding a glass bottle is much more sophisticated than a slippery aluminum can. Epic Sodas has all of your favorite traditional sodas and even some new ones in glass bottles. So, don’t be fooled by aluminum cans when glass bottles are only a few clicks away. Cheers!
March Madness
It is the time of year when almost everyone gets March Madness. While the Jerk enjoys NCAA college basketball, my March Madness involves sodas. The final four in Epic Sodas version are Dad’s Old Fashioned Root Beer, Americana Huckleberry, Jelly Belly Juicy Pear and Crush Orange. We won’t know who makes it to the finals until this Sunday when the sales reports are tallied, but we do that these four outstanding sodas have outlasted over 80 competitors so far. Of course, you still have time to purchase your favorite and vote for the winner with your credit card. On Sunday when we announce the leading sellers, we will not tell you the amount of sales. The winner of the final two will be announced next week. There are no real losers in this final four because our March Madness involves all winners and very good taste. Cheers!
